The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols 2018

"Thank you to all those who participated in and supported the Nine Lessons and Carols this evening. Over 100 congregation members attended with 25 choristers from both the Sacred Heart and Christ Church choirs. It was a wonderful service highlighting the birth of Christ through the nine lessons, interspersed with a festival of music with well known carols.
After the service, during fellowship in the church hall -at the same time enjoying the mulled wine, minced pies and other goodies,  we expressed thanks to Hiroko, our rehearsal pianist for the joint choirs,  to Tomomi, our organist and pianist (for some rehearsals) who played exquisitely during the Festival, to Yutaka, for helping as always to  organize the participation of the Sacred Heart choir, to Peggy and Onno for opening up their house on Sundays for choir rehearsals, and to Yuka, our awesome choral director who worked tirelessly to get the choirs ready for the Festival. She did an amazing job. We also offer thanks to Fr. Simon for playing a key role in the service, to the YCC vestry members for their wonderful support and of course to the choir members as well - who sang so melodiously. Sincere appreciations.
As mentioned, it was a wonderful evening celebrating the 100th anniversary of this Festival, the origins of which grew from Kings College Cambridge in the UK.  Further thank yous are extended to our readers, and all those who helped with refreshments both set-up and take down. The generosity of the congregation must not be forgotten - raising ¥27,060 for the MtS.. Thank you so much. We look forward to next year's Festival..." Dennis (YCC People's Warden)

Church Flowers and Cleaning

YCC continues to provide flowers, normally for the 1st Sunday of the month, subject to Yamate Sei Ko Kai events and schedule. Contact Noriko Hasegawa if you would donate flowers on a future date.

Since we are a small congregation, YSK do not expect us to join the regular roster for cleaning but we did pledge full support twice a year, at which time please lend your support; many hands make light work and a couple of hours will be much appreciated.

Making Music ~ Praising God!
